Happy Birthday, Nugget!

Luke, you crazy little bebe of mine, today is your very first birthday! Where in sam hill did the time sneak off to and turn you into a one-year old? 

Right now you are walking along the chairs chatting and giggling with some cake mix smudged around that cheeky grin of yours. That smile sure can light up a room. 

You love to stand against the window, patting your hand and jibbering all the things you see outside. Screaming is your latest talent, but I guess I did it too, so it's okay ;) The fact that you can roll your r's and make a professional grade ere sound is making your Rodriguez ancestors proud, and it is quite the party trick. You love your plushy animals and are particularly good at body slamming them in your crib when you think nobody is watching (but yes, we are watching and attempting with all our might to keep in roaring laughter). And that wispy blond hair and those crazy long lashes? Gee whiz you are the cutest.

Luke, we are over the moon blessed that you are our little nugget. Can't believe it was already 365 days ago when I was staring down at your brand new, pink, fleshy body overcome with that new parent anxiety, awe, and joy. We love you more than words will ever be able to describe!
